Who May Vote At School Polls?
According to Chapter 386 P. L. 1939 no person shall be permitted to vote at such election unless his or her name appears on said lists (permanent registration) as having been registered to vote, and for the purpose of said school election no person shall be entitled to vote unless he or she shall be registered (with Township Clerk) at least three days prior to the date of said school election.
Those who were not registered at the General Election in November must register as indicated above.
Qualifications of a Voter
Must be a citizen and resident of New jersey for one year, five months in the County, and overnight in the Town, prior to registration.
The following must register:
(a) Those who have reached the age of 21 since November election and have the other qualifications for a voter.
(b) Those who how have resident qualifications but did not have them at the November election.
(c) Those who have changed their election district since November election must register in their new district.
(d) Those who did not vote at November election and whose names were for any reason omitted from Registry Lists.
N. B. -- There is no provision of the School Law for voting on affidavit if your name is omitted from the Registry Lists or if you fail to register.
