What students are entitled to free transportation?
Students of the junior and Senior High School who live 1 3/4 miles from school are given free transportation. Points marking out these limits are designated by the town engineer.
Who pays for this transportation?
The State Department of Education appropriates an amount of money equal to 75% of the transportation cost. The Board of Education pays the remaining cost. The State Department of Education, however, recognizes two miles as the limit for free transportation for the Senior High School students and the 1 3/4 mile limit for junior High School students. The Teaneck Board of Education has increased the area of free transportation for Senior High School students to the l 3/4-mile limit and is responsible for the extra cost.
Are the buses inspected?
The bus service must meet the standards set up by the State Department of Education for school transportation. Buses are regularly inspected by the Motor Vehicle Department under the direction of the County Superintendent.
Is There any bus service for students not living in the free transportation area?
For those students who do not live in the free transportation area but who desire transportation, arrangements have been made with the transportation company to sell a ticket that is good for one month's transportation. The cost of these tickets to be one dollar ($1.00) for each month. The tickets provide transportation in both directions and may be used, only during the month in which they are purchased. These tickets may be purchased at the High School.

Bus No. 1 -- Starting at 7:45 A.M. Fycke Lane, Glenwood Ave., Fort Lee Rd., Queen Anne Rd., High School.
Bus No. 2 -- Starting at 7:45 A.M. Park Ave., Tessen St., Fort Lee Rd., Queen Anne Rd., High School.
Bus No. 3 -- Starting at 8:00 A.M. Fycke Lane, Glenwood Ave., Fort Lee Rd., Queen Anne Rd., High School.
Bus No. 4 -- Starting at 8:00 A.M. Teaneck Rd., Tessen St., Park Ave., Fort Lee Rd., Queen Anne Rd., High School.
Bus No. 5 -- Starting at 8:00 A.M. Windsor Rd., Churchill Rd., River rd., West Englewood Ave., Queen Anne Rd., High School.
At the close of school, the FIRST TRIP for Senior High School students LEAVES THE SCHOOL at 3:10 P. M.
THE SECOND TRIP for Junior High School students LEAVES THE SCHOOL at 3;30 P. M.
