Community Policing Bureau: During 2001, the Community Policing Bureau continued to foster relationships with and educate residents about contemporary crime issues.  We initiated a community base anti-terrorism training programs called C. A. T. Eyes.  This program is designed to assist local communities to combat terrorism by enhancing neighborhood security, heightening the community's powers of observation and encouraging mutual assistance and concern among neighbors.

Crime Stoppers: Money is given to individuals for providing information which leads to a criminal arrest. All calls are kept strictly confidential and the caller may remain anonymous. Crime Stoppers may be contacted at (201) 833-4222.

Detective Bureau: Individuals or groups are encouraged to contact a member of the Narcotics Bureau to discuss the dangers of alcohol and drugs.  Members of the Burglary Squad are available to provide home and business security surveys.  The Detective Bureau can be contacted at (201) 837-2565.

Juvenile Bureau: Members of the Juvenile Bureau are all experts in their field and are available to speak to groups and /or an individual on a variety of issues related to the Juvenile Justice System or any juvenile related problem.  You may reach the Juvenile Bureau by calling (201) 837-0495 to assist or investigate any juvenile matter.

Service Bureau: Residents may call the Service Bureau to arrange for bicycle registration, alarm registration and to apply for or renew liquor license identification cards and firearms purchase applications. Officers will engrave a distinct number on the resident's bicycle. The Service Bureau may be contacted at (201) 837-2573.

Traffic Bureau: Residents may request that the radar trailer be placed on their street which will show the speed limit at that location and alert oncoming vehicles of their current speed. Officers follow up with radar enforcement up removal of the trailer.  The Traffic Bureau can be contacted at (210) 837-2600 extension 282 for questions or information on available safety programs..

Emergency: The Teaneck Police Department is a Public Safety Answering and Dispatch Point for the 9-1-1 system. Any request for an emergency response from police, fire or ambulance can be made by dialing 911.  This number should be used for emergency ONLY.  Non-emergency calls to the Police Department may be made to (201) 837-2600.
